We had lots of fun! Michele Daws shared with many of us

Visiting Santa in Red Oak

On our way

Checking out all the different lights

We found him......waiting

Santa told the boys to be good and listen to mommy and daddy.
This even has taken place for the last 10 years and started out with 1500+ people coming thru but attendance has dropped over the years. While signing the visitor book I noticed a family had come from Madison,WI. We enjoyed hot chocolate and walked away with goodies and a book.

Pretty gory

All caped out and ready for the taxidermist

Finally got him!!!

Fred was successful in his deer hunt tonight and using a muzzleloader
for the 1st time, got him in 1 shot. We've been watching this fellow.
The buck is 9 points with a 21 1/4 inch spread and live weight was 230 lbs.

Now to get it ready for the taxidermist.

Getting ready for Santa

So we took a trip today to Pine Ridge Christmas tree farm and it didn't take too long to find what we liked. By no means was the weather a factor in this fairly quick decision.

My men working hard to get the tree from its happy spot.
The process of taking the tree home includes putting it in a shaker to get loose needles and snow and whatever else out so its kinda clean to come in the home. This orange thing wraps the tree.

Tada, wrapped tree.
